WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram and the site widget — connecting them, and what differs.

WhatsApp Business bot

The bot answers customers directly on your WhatsApp Business number. The flow: teach the bot → test it → connect the number.

  1. 1Add the knowledge the bot answers from (documents / website / FAQ).
  2. 2Test in the “Test” tab — chat with the bot exactly like a customer, without sending anything real.
  3. 3Connect your WhatsApp Business number from “Settings” (Embedded Signup) — the last step.

Connecting WhatsApp — two options:

  • Coexistence (recommended) — the number stays on the WhatsApp Business app on your phone AND the bot replies. You don’t lose the number; Meta shows you a QR code to scan.
  • Dedicated number — the number MOVES fully to the API and no longer works in the WhatsApp app. Use a spare number, not your personal one.

Coexistence requirements:

  • The number is on the WhatsApp Business app (green), not regular WhatsApp.
  • The number has been actively used for at least ~7 days on WhatsApp Business (Meta checks tenure; just-moved numbers are rejected).
  • The WhatsApp Business app is updated to the latest version.

Coexistence — step by step (what you see on screen):

  1. 1Click “Connect — keep on phone”. A Meta popup opens → log in with Facebook.
  2. 2Under “Business portfolio” pick your business (e.g. “Natix”); under “WhatsApp Business account” pick “Connect a WhatsApp Business app”.
  3. 3Enter your WhatsApp Business number (the one on your phone).
  4. 4BEFORE the next step: open the WhatsApp Business app on your phone and keep the phone unlocked — the QR code expires quickly.
  5. 5Meta shows a QR code (like the image below). Scan it from the WhatsApp Business app: Settings → Linked devices → Link a device.
  6. 6Authorize the history import: up to 6 months of 1:1 chats + your contacts. Done — the number stays on your phone AND the bot answers customers.
The Meta coexistence QR-code screen
This is the QR-code screen you scan from the WhatsApp Business app (step 5).

If Meta asks for an SMS verification code, stop — that flow moves the number to the API and you lose it from your phone. Real coexistence shows a QR code to scan, never SMS.

During connection, your previously linked devices (WhatsApp Web / Mac) are automatically unlinked; you can re-link them after onboarding (only supported companion clients sync with the API).

The WhatsApp dashboard shows live conversations, leads, bookings and analytics. You can take over any conversation manually (escalate to a human).

Meta business verification (optional, later): the bot replies to customers who message you first — unlimited and free, no verification needed. Business verification only matters if YOU want to initiate proactive template messages (marketing/notifications) to many customers per day — it raises the limits from 250 → 1,000 → 10,000+ unique recipients/day. Note: numbers connected via coexistence can NOT use the classic document-based verification in Business Manager — only the Meta Verified subscription or partner-led verification. (The visible blue badge next to your business name is a different thing — that comes only with the Meta Verified subscription.)

Telegram bot

The bot also serves customers on Telegram — with its own bot, created automatically in seconds.

Recommended — “Create bot automatically”: no token needed.

  1. 1In your agent, under “Publish & Embed” → Telegram Bot, click “Connect”.
  2. 2Choose “Create bot automatically” — a QR code and an “Open in Telegram” button appear.
  3. 3Telegram’s “Create Bot” screen opens with the name and username pre-filled. Don’t change them.
  4. 4Tap “Create”. The bot creates and connects itself to the agent — the status flips to “Connected” within seconds.

Manual fallback — with a @BotFather token: open @BotFather in Telegram, send /newbot, pick a name + username, copy the token you receive and paste it into the connect form.

After connecting you get a share kit: the bot’s t.me link, a downloadable QR code and a “Chat on Telegram” button for your website — that’s how customers find the bot (there is no phone number on Telegram).

You can also link a Telegram escalation group: your team receives handed-off conversations there and can reply straight from the group.

Telegram conversations appear in “Customer conversations” with a channel badge — same knowledge base, same leads and analytics as WhatsApp and the website.

Website widget & embedding

Put the bot on your website as a chat bubble — no technical skills needed.

  1. 1In the website agent, go to “Publish & Embed” and turn publishing on.
  2. 2Copy the embed snippet and paste it into your site, before </body>.
  3. 3For WordPress, install the natix.chat plugin and enter the agent ID — no code.
  4. 4The bot appears as a chat bubble and answers visitors from your knowledge base.

You can customize the widget title, color, position and welcome message, and show the bot only on specific pages (URL targeting).

Before going live, test the bot in the “Test” tab to make sure it answers correctly.
